My Opinion About Sssh:
Sssh is a site for women. I imagine men are also more than welcome into their little corner of the Internet, but it is what their makers call a magazine by and for women. This, in itself, raises my interest and curiosity because, and let's face it, the majority of porn sites are made for men.
The membership fee is more than reasonable on its own. Inside the site I find an organized members' area and a promise of daily updates. There's actually a lot to this site, so I'll try to be as thorough as possible. One of the main features I notice is that aside from just a simple journal format with videos and photos, the site is also a community of sorts and you'll find a chat room and message board. Surprisingly, there's not a whole lot of back and forth on the forum, but when a question is asked by a member, others eventually pipe in with an opinion.
Similar to a magazine publication, there is a news and entertainment section where you can check out trivia like what happened this day in history, letters to the editor and other member contributions that include written, audio and video submission. There are mainstream movie reviews, there is celebrity gossip and there are human interest articles regarding serious social issues like erotic asphyxiation or political ones like female genital mutilation. There are even interviews with the likes of Annie Sprinkle, for example. Of course there are plenty of fun and game articles on sex magick and tantra, masturbation, BDSM and there are articles on beauty and even beauty tips (who'd have known seaweed could make you look refreshed?). There's a heath section where there are articles about exercise, sex and pregnancy and healthy eating. The site covers a spectrum of articles including erotic humour, sex history, there are eroscopes, polls, shared fantasies, stories and so much more that I'm finding it impossible to really tell you about everything in such a short space.
Photos and videos are divided into five categories: The Man Menu, World Of Kink, Couples Connection, All About You and Girl To Girl. There are 101 sets of photos that range from naughty to XXX. The photos come with short stories and a set of around 150 pictures. There are a few different staff photographers and the styles differ from one to another. Sometimes they have a higher glam dimension and other times they have a more raw and realistic feel. The 1000x666 pictures offer a great variety of angles and the images are always clear and sexy. There are soft and romantic softcore images as well as hardcore, but they're always tasteful and you won't find a lot of extreme close-ups.
Some of the movie comes from outside sources, but it appears to be exclusive. There are also a lot of video feeds in each different category. In total there are around 27 films that seem original, 12 non-exclusive films and there are four plug-in streaming theatres including Tied Up In Love, Leather Lovers, Naughty Nurses and HD Porn. The movies are updated monthly and the niche varies. The most recent flick is a 27 minute couples hardcore movie. Plug-ins and non-exclusive content comes in low and medium quality QuickTime and WMV formats, while the seeming exclusive content is 859kbps 640x480 Windows Media format with an option for a lower quality. There's crisp stereo sound and the image quality is better than expected. However, I wasn't very fond of the music tracks running through the films I watched. It detracted from the whole hot and horny eroticism in my opinion.
Final Verdict:
Anyone looking for a journal format site with good photos, a selection of videos and all content geared toward a female and couples audience will find what they want out of Sssh.com. I think the site has a great blend of cerebral and erotic and porn content, although I'd probably like to see more exclusive movies available. Nonetheless, the membership fee is very reasonable considering the overall quality and amount of content you get.
